Cueva de El Pindal

The Cueva de El Pindal, located in Llanes, is a significant archaeological site featuring prehistoric rock art. The cave is situated on the coast, offering a striking view of the sea, and is accessible via a short walk from the town. The interior of the cave features Paleolithic paintings, including depictions of animals such as horses, deer, and bison, which date back to the Magdalenian period. Visitors are allowed to explore a portion of the cave, specifically the first 300 meters of the gallery. This section contains the most significant artistic elements, including the famous "Great Panel" with its detailed animal figures. Access to the cave requires prior reservation, which can be made by telephone. The cost of admission is €3.13 for general entry, with reduced rates available for specific groups. Children under seven years old are not permitted to enter the cave.
