Centro Botín

The Centro Botín in Santander is a striking cultural center located at the Jardines de Pereda, overlooking the Bay of Santander. Opened in 2017, the building was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano and honors former Banco Santander president Emilio Botín. The structure is notable for its cantilevered design, appearing as a pier suspended over the water on treetop-height columns, offering panoramic views of the sea and gardens.

The center hosts a variety of cultural activities, including exhibitions, music, films, theater, and creative workshops. It features two connected buildings: one dedicated to exhibitions and another for educational and cultural activities. Visitors can explore the space at their own pace, with a recommended visit duration of one to three hours. The facility includes a shop and a café, which is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Admission costs €9 for general entry, with reduced rates for groups and free access for specific groups such as under-18s and unemployed individuals. Tickets can be purchased online to avoid queues. The center is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with variations during summer months and holidays. It serves as a significant cultural landmark in Santander, combining modern architecture with a diverse program of artistic events.
