The Castro de Elviña is a significant archaeological site located in A Coruña, Spain, situated on the Monte da Zapateira near the University campus. This protohistoric settlement, inhabited from the 3rd century BC to the 4th century AD, is one of the largest Castreño sites in northern Galicia. The fortified settlement covers over 4 hectares and features three concentric walled enclosures, with a monumental entrance flanked by large towers. Excavations have revealed various structures, and the site offers extensive views of the surrounding valleys and the city.

Visitors can explore the site free of charge, but prior reservation is mandatory due to a maximum capacity of 25 people per visit. Reservations must be made through the Museo Arqueolóxico de San Antón. The opening hours vary by season: during the winter months (October 1 to May 31), guided tours are available on Sundays at 12:00 PM. In the summer (June 1 to September 30), tours are offered on Sundays at 12:00 PM and on the first Saturday of each month at 7:00 PM.

The site provides a unique glimpse into the pre-Roman and Roman eras, showcasing the defensive architecture and daily life of the Castreño culture. Key artifacts, including the "Tesouro de Elviña," are displayed at the nearby San Antón Museum. The landscape retains traces of traditional vegetation and paths, enhancing the historical atmosphere. For school groups, guided tours are available with free didactic materials. It is recommended to contact the site directly via email or phone to confirm availability and make reservations.
