Segovia Art Museum (Museo de Segovia)

The Segovia Art Museum, the Museo de Segovia, is the provincial museum of Segovia, and it occupies one of the most unusual buildings in the old town: the Casa del Sol, a medieval fortified gateway built into the city walls. The structure was part of the defences, and its position on the wall gives the museum views over the surrounding countryside. Part of the building is a former gate of the wall, so the visit begins in a place that was once a working point of defence and has since been adapted for exhibitions.
