La Cueva de los Verdes

La Cueva de los Verdes is a volcanic lava tube located in the municipality of Haría, Lanzarote, Spain. Formed approximately 3,000 years ago by lava flows from the Monte Corona volcano, the cave system extends for several kilometers, with a portion developed for tourism. The site is part of the Monumento Natural del Malpaís de La Corona and is situated next to the Jameo del Agua.

Visitors can take a guided tour through a two-kilometer section of the cave. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes stops at various points of interest, such as an internal concert hall with a capacity of 500 people. The cave features dramatic lighting and soundscapes designed by artist Jesús Soto, which highlight the unique geological formations. The experience offers a glimpse into the natural history of the island and its use as a refuge from pirates in the past.

Due to limited capacity, tours are restricted to 50 visitors at a time, which may result in waiting times during peak months. It is advisable to book tickets in advance. The cave is open daily, with specific hours that may vary by season. The site is easily accessible from other major attractions in Lanzarote, making it a convenient stop for those interested in geology and natural history.
